The first ever Cop Shop hosted by Lambton Mall was a huge success. Twenty very happy Sarnia Police officers were matched with twenty very lucky kids who had been selected by their school for this special event. The group was greeted by Santa and Chief Nelson who spoke to the participants. Everyone was treated with pizza and refreshments then the kids received a stocking and bag filled with donations from various vendors at the mall.
The shopping started and the first shopper spent his $200 within 20 minutes. Slowly, the rest of the shoppers arrived back at the food court with the Cops carrying many bags filled with great items. The kids had their picture taken with Santa and then they went back to school or were taken home, very excited and tired.
It was a very rewarding experience for the officers who volunteered their time for this occasion. Check out the pictures on the Lambton Mall Facebook page or the Sarnia Police Facebook page.
